PESCASSEROLI AND THE ABRUZZO
Pescasseroli is the most important village in the Abruzzo National Park. It is in the high valley of the Sangro river, at the North of a wide basin, that is surrounded by wonderful mountains and enormous century old woods, in one of the most striking mounty areas in Italy, for its wild landscape beauty and for its flora and fauna's extraordinary variety, in a wide valley 1.167 meters above the sea level.
WINTER ACTIVITIES
Pescasseroli is a well known village in the Alto Sangro, and the most important ones in the Abruzzo National Park.
The ski resort in Pescasseroli is quite big, with more than 20 km of ski slopes, for the ski mountaineering, that twist and turn on the Vitelle and Ceraso Mounts, that are served by modern skilifts and more than 30 km for the nordic skiing, at the Macchiavarrana and Opi Cross-Country Center.
Skiing in Pescasseroli is a really pleasant experience: wide slopes with an excelent snow cover, variable slopes that make possible to everyone to have fun, in the marvellous set of the Marsicani Mountains in the Abruzzo National Park.
SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Pescasseroli is also the right place where to live a stay into the nature, all year long it is possible to be enchanted by the Park, that has a rare and striking beauty, and make it possible to have naturalistic excursions and itineraries.
In summer Pescasseroli is the starting point for all who want to visit the wonders of the Park: from here it is possible to leave for wonderful trekkings or reach really beautiful villages such as those that overlook the lake of Barrea and from which start a lot of enchanting paths.
